The Newham People’s Alliance (NPA) was prominent in the campaign to have Rokhsana Fiaz selected as the Labour Party candidate for mayor. The posting above was taken from the Facebook page of Newham People’s Alliance. It appeared in September 2018 and was an unsolicited vote of thanks from the outgoing management of the site to two individuals who had helped them earlier in the year. Or at least it seemed to be.

It seems that the Labour Party has a number of new problems. Having got rid of several of the entryist factions committed to the ‘downfall of capitalism’, a new one has arisen in Newham.

We recently received a communication from Mr Mirza, indicating that he had not been ‘expelled’ from the Labour Party and that he had merely been suspended. He went to some pains to point out that had never revealed the reason behind his suspension and that as he had not revealed it, no-one knew the real reason.

You’d think that these issues might occupy some of the time of our local political leaders.

Earlier in the summer she took herself along to the Masjid Imambargah, a mosque in Plaistow, near to the Abbey Arms. With the closure of the Imamia Mission on Romford Road this is the only Shia mosque currently operating in the borough.

She was at pains to point out that she was there in a personal capacity, not as the First Citizen of the Borough. Yeah.

We learn that Labour Party members in Newham have all received an email about the suspension of the parties in East and West Ham. They learned that the parties are still suspended!

At the recent AGM, Joe Ejiofor was defeated in his bid to remain as Corbynite leader in a party which is swinging away from the bizarre and the extreme. That being said, Ejiofor lost by only one vote which saw the Haringey council split, pretty much 50/50.

A ‘Black Church’ opened its doors to help with Covid 19 vaccinations. Jesus Church for All Nations was also engaged in a number of other initiatives to help the local Brent community.

News will now have reached readers of the sad death of Kevin Jenkins. Kevin served as a councillor in Newham for almost three decades.

We note the sad news that one of the major figures in East London’s Labour history has recently passed away.
