It seems that Labour’s Mayor Fiaz has found something useful to do in the days before she leaves office.

Fiaz who has been notoriously absent from the campaign trail, has found something better to occupy her time.

With all of eight weeks left in office, the Labour mayor has taken herself off on an intensive business trip to generate contacts and gather essential knowledge of the construction trade; what insiders refer to as ‘a jolly’.

Sessions are divided between the seafront Riviera Building and the Palais Building and of course, if it all gets too tiring, there is always the bar or the beach to retire to.

It’s not cheap. There’s the cost of getting there and hotels are of course courtesy of the council taxpayer additionally there is the cost of entry.

Still, it is always possible that politicians and council officers thought that it was worth the expense just to be rid of her for a week.
