Word on the Street

It would appear that Mayor Fiaz has selected two names for promotion to cabinet. We understand that she will announce the names this evening and that councillors Liz Cronin and Musawwar Alam will be elevated to the front bench.

Quite what they’ll do when they get there is anybody’s guess.

A question or two for those aspiring greatness. Are you there to simply fill up the numbers, add to your CV (and improve your bank balance), or do you have a desire and the means to influence change? And on a personal level, will attaching yourselves to a lame-duck mayoralty help or harm your chances in a post-Fiaz administration.

Additionally we are led to believe that it will be an unlucky or lucky night (depending on how you view these things) for Madeline Sarley-Pontin and Caroline Adaja both of whom will lose their roles as deputy cabinet members. The Fiaz is throwing one last roll of the dice to save her crumbling administration.
