And the Antisemitism Row Continues
We understand that Cllr Riaz Mirza saw fit to share a YouTube clip from the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on a WhatsApp group. In an interview on CNN FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi repeated the oft cited accusation that Jews with ‘deep pockets’ were ‘controlling the media’.
The interview was in respect of the Israel-Gaza conflict and unusually, Qureshi was called out for antisemitism by the interviewer.
What we don’t know was whether Mirza was supporting the FM or being critical. What we are told is that he was supportive of the FM. If this is correct it suggests that Labour has still got lots of work ahead of it if it is to clear up the antisemitism in the party.
