Another U-Turn. Victory for the Independent Group?

Readers will recall that Cllr Mirza and the Independent Group campaigned for a change of policy regarding the Stratford Village Market. They introduced an amendment to the budget to that effect.

Now it seems, Newham Council have acceded to their demands and have taken measures to extend the life of the market. In short, they have found £700k to reopen the market.

The market traders are understandably delighted. Observers have noted that the financial strategy of the mayor is looking a little threadbare.
