Where was the Mayor?

The fellow above is probably not someone you recognise. This is Lard Parry, an entrepreneur, a businessman, a Labour peer and for five years was the chair of the Coexistence Trust. This is an organisation that seems to have gone out of business at about the same times as its former director, one Rokhsana Fiaz left.

Clearly, there were no hard feelings because Lord Parry was having a party. In Italy. He invited his former employee to join them. So, she did.

Fiaz flew out to Italy on Thursday 13th July. If that date rings a bell, it is because that was the date of the by-elections in Boleyn and Wallend.

Her sudden disappearance did not go unnoticed. Councillors, including those on the cabinet were said to be furious that she had flown out on the day of the election. 

When the results were announced and it was discovered that Labour had lost a seat, their feelings did not abate.

Still, we are sure that she had a wonderful time.
