Let the Members Speak?

It does seem that some of the candidates for the position as Labour’s candidate for mayor have decided that it would be a good idea to engage with the membership in the selection of that candidate. 

Six of the declared candidates were invited to sign the letter below, for reasons unknown, but which can be surmised, one of them chose not to.

It does seem that five of them fancy that their chances will be improved if the members have a chance to express their preferences. One of them, it seems does not.

We don’t expect a response until after Christmas, so let’s see what the Labour Party says then. Mind you, as it has taken over a year for the Labour Party to respond to questions about antisemitism, so don’t hold your breath.
