Is This an Attempt to Take the Sectarian Vote?

Newham Independents are clearly confident that they have hoovered up the Pakistani vote. 

But Labour’s Forhad Hussain is of Bengali extraction, and we have it on good authority that he has been working to solidify the Bengali vote behind Labour. If he succeeds this will mean that some wards are very likely to return Labour councillors.

This screenshot from the Newham Independent X page looks like a bit of a low blow aimed at driving a wedge between Labour and the Bangladeshi community? It would appear that they are not above playing nationalist, communitarian and religious cards when it suits them electorally.

Is this what an inclusive society looks like?
